Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, you will be able to

  • explain the difference between population health planning frameworks and population health theories;
  • identify the key stages of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model, one of the most widely used frameworks for developing population health interventions;
  • describe the ways in which the PRECEDE-PROCEED model is applied;
  • recognize the limitations of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model and the complementary use of intervention mapping to identify appropriate theories and strategies for planning population health interventions.
